DEFINITIONS:

Some experiences in life define us. The initiator of my most significant defining experience was a draft notice I received just three weeks after graduating from high school. Along with 24 other recruits, I was selected for training in the Army's elite helicopter school. One of four in that group to actually graduate, I rose to the challenge and flew Black Hawk helicopters for twenty years. It was a defining period in my life that forged my character, transforming me into what I am today. I had no reservations at all about doing my service for my country. Honestly, I felt it was my duty. And it made a huge difference in my life.

LIFE SHAPING GUIDELINES:

I credit my parents with instilling in me a high regard for personal integrity. I believe the military definitely reinforced the values I was brought up with. And that regulating all conduct in military life is a traditional code of honor built around integrity, as well as discipline and duty. You learn to live by it, underlining the importance of being a person of your word. The bottom line for me is that when you commit yourself to do something, you follow through and get it done. In all I do, I try to remember that actions speak louder than words. That’s why following through is so important to me.

ENRICHING INFLUENCE:

When I'm not following through for clients or others to whom I've made a commitment, I like to work out. I do it for my health, both physical and mental. It helps me keep balanced. Travel is another favorite outlet. Invoking my military experience, I enjoy the enriching influence of visiting and even living in different parts of the world; South Korea, Europe, South America, Australia and elsewhere.
